lots and lots and even tons of tremendous boners.

Hey, check this out it's fucking cool. These two shit bird blurry photographs were taken after a house party out on 45th street in Philly this past Thursday. My two buddies and I went out to a house party to do what ever it is you do at parties and we leave to drive home only to find that his front passenger car window has been busted out and the inside of his car has been looted. Not surprised at all a bit, my Canon 20D, 1G card, battery, and oh yes my limited edition autographed Canon camera strap has been looted from under the seat. Along with my buddies head unit, and oh my robot mix CD was in the head unit. And because well, i have been a bit conditioned to hurried digital life style the thought of the laborious film life style leaves me a bit resistant to shoot. But hey, why the heck didn't i bring in my camera to oh lets say shoot or even for safe keeping, i don't know. So from here on out i am going to become a pencil sketch artist. i look forward to it.

self portrait (yes, i'm a little behind)

I shot this a few months ago, but I'm interested to hear some feedback on it. It was shot with a pinhole (+pola back), pretty funny sitting still for 2min--

This is why the labels for each post are important). Of course when it is your choice to pick the assignment you can do something not on the list, but we thought we should at least start with a pool of topics.

more experimentation

so here are a couple of things ive been working on as well. i know these and the other photo are very unusual for me to do. I have always been so rigid in my production of a "straight photo", but ive been wondering about the permanence of images and society. there are so many good and great images out there that its hard for me to even remember who my favorite photographers are, much less the work they make unless i happen upon them again, then I'm like" oh yeah! i love this photograph". I think that I am this way (and i bet you are too) because we have to kind of continue to seek more and better visual communication. We HAVE to if we want to keep up with with the rate of production that's going on. So for some reason, this thought has me drawn to creating a more interior example of the nature I've photographed. I think I'm trying to slow down the photographic process by manipulating the image itself and the intent of communication. I'm trying to synthesize the window and mirror in hopes of making a more clear representation of how I see nature, art, and experience existing as one thing.

Assignment #2

The second assignment for The Photographic Medium is...

Interactions

A lot of people have been suggesting two weeks for each assignment, and that seems to make the most sense seeing as how it takes a couple of days to get things rolling, so lets work on #2 until March 9.

We are going to try to re-organize the links on the right side and make it easier to see the completed assignments, so lets try to make sure that when posting an image to add the assignment name as a label. Other than that I think this blog is going pretty well, so thanks to everybody for participating...and thanks to Drew for thinking it up and getting it started.
