this is me if i were to be represented on a sticker, stuck to a post, slightly looking down in some small town.

about the first project
I'm scraping my face across the sidewalk pavement in my hatred for this topic. I'm doing it anyways, but I just wanted to express my feelings.

Show Opening
I know I've already told some of you, but for those I haven't talked to yet... I'm going to be having a show back home in Reading during the month of March. Nothing big, just something put together by my high school art teacher who also curates an affiliated gallery. It's going to be a solo exhibit of a few different bodies of images I've been working on... so I am trying to spread the word to as many people as I know.
Opening Reception:
Sunday, March 2nd
1-2:30 pm @
Grandview Gallery
2601 GrandView Blvd.
West Lawn PA 19609

Assignment 01
Your first topic: Self-Portrait.
There is no limit to the number of images you may submit or their format. You may choose to post a caption or title with the image if you feel something needs explanation or modification. My only request is that you simply place the name of each assignment in its label (there is a blank field beneath where you compose the post). If members are posting other images not related to the assignments or submitting assignments after their deadline it will help with viewers recognition. The deadline for this assignment is Sunday, February 24th at 11:59 P.M. Around that same time the next assignment will posted and we will begin week-long intervals. You may begin to post unlimited images and comments any time before then. Bonus points will be awarded for nudity. Have fun.

burning with freezing cold anticipation
I had my first east coast Photo opening outside of Ai Thursday. It's up in my hometown of Doylestown out here in the Philly suburbs where i find myself living again. The show is a collection of my favorites from the 4 months i spent shambling around Europe last winter. It will be up through the end of the month.
You can see those images and more at my website http://zacheggleston.com/ click on "current work: europe."
I showed this same work while i was living in Tucson Az. back in August. Though this time i was able to afford larger prints, nice frames and mats -all archival and looking pretty good. It had of course been a while since i'd done any mat cutting but it's like riding a bike apparently.
The opening event went well -better than i thought i already broke even on the whole endeavor money-wise.
If anyone wants to come out and take a look let me know. The place is a little hidden. I'm thinking about having a closing event too perhaps.

Welcome
Hello and thank you to those who have joined The Photographic Medium. Our first assignment will be posted within the next 48 hours. We are in continuous need of new topics, so post any ideas you have and they will be added. Remember that in addition to posting your photographs and commenting on those of your peers, you should inform us of any exhibitions, community art events, forums, your personal website (which will be added to our links section) or anything you feel appropriate to artistic/photographic endeavors and to the medium. I'm looking forward to sharing images and ideas with all of you and wishing you success in your photography.
