I like the flip-flops, the beard, and the fact that you are staring directly at the camera. Close to being cliche with the Christmas lights and the records, but I think the looking at the camera helps pull it out of that.

well it's an environmental portrait i suppose.
I didn't set anything up -i would sit there and play the guitar often one day i documented it -even the beatles record just happened to be there.

hahaha zach's life IS a cliche.

yeah i like it tho, its got the nice ethereal quality to it, it makes me think that you believe that when you play music, you transcend yourself and the environment isn't as much important as it is by chance. making me say again, zach'e life is cliche... no offense tho, its all about the love over here.

Crop the top of this to make a square and you have an album cover thats right in line with the singer song-writer lexicon. Its almost like C. King's 'Tapestry' image- the natural light, small surroundings. Its true what you guys have been saying - records in a musician image being cliche, but you often see new artists displaying their influences proudly. Still I cant escape the feeling that this is an album cover-esque image. The illusion that Zach was just playing or is about to; the somewhat awkward positioning of limbs and how the shapes they create relay the playing style.

I generally like this image. I'm not crazy about you staring directly into the camera or strangely...the angle of your hat. I'm not sure why. I like the harshness of the window light as key lighting and the subtle, gentle quality of the twinkle lights. I find them comforting.
