environments

hey folks,
better late than never i suppose, here's some stuff i shot yesterday.  I guess it fits in w/ environment.  we'll see.. im thinking about doing a documentary based on north chicago vs. south chicago. apparently this is the most segregated city in the country, which i find intensely fascinating.  ill be posting stuff as i go.

These work great together. Very fitting of your style (even though your square went widescreen). On one hand the figure walking through the third image fits the motif of having the centered image, (the van, the blank banner/sign). On the other hand it might be just a figure brought in to bring some material to this environment that is much less a substantial environment than the others. The liquor store and the van look great.

I think this is a good extension of these lovely graphic images you do so well, Jana. The displeasing story of the place is really evident within the everpleasing graphic style of your imagery. It is a comfortable and complimentary contradiction.

God, I love these. I knew they were yours as soon as I saw them. The symmetry and graphic design is very pleasing to my eye. I love that these could have been taken anywhere, not just in Chicago.
